Scrappy Bargello Quilt Top Finished!

This is the Scrappy Bargello Quilt top I started at Bonnie Hunter's workshop.  I thought it would be a good stash buster, but the results exceeded my expectations by a long shot.  I couldn't believe how great the fabrics blended, despite my doubts! I used only leftovers from 10 years of quilting, with Bonnie's tips of putting together fabrics that have a gradation of hue difference or somewhat contrasting to very contrasting.

This is another favorite special quilt.

Love the Braided border!

Such a pretty mosaic

Penguins, florals and surf waves

Even a Corgi in honor of our old dogs Erin and Moses!

A true 50% fire sale at a LQS helped me add the 6.75 yards, but I stuck to my purpose for them  and made  6 "posh pillowcases" in manly fabrics for my three sons, 2 for each. Below is pic of two sons' cases. The third already has his at his apartment.

I am forever indebted to You go Girl Blog for her wonderful tutorial for these. I added the crochet to my first two pillowcases, but left it off for the boys!

They are addicting and I love having nice fine cotton cases in custom colors. How posh is that! LOL

Texas Braid and Scrappy Bargello Workshop

I had a wonderful time at the two days of workshops in Orange county with Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville.com   It was held at Sewing Party quilt shop which was darling and had nice large class room. They have all the modern brights and floral, polka dots, and on and on. I 'm glad to know it is up there!

I have lots of work to do now.

ORCA BAY WEEK 7 & 8....FINISHED!!!!!!!!

Yee pee! Orca Bay is finished.  Near the end, I thought I would never finish connecting rows, and then the sashing and final border.  But, boy was it worth it.  What a wonderful quilt. I love it.
