I DID IT - Freshed Milled and Baked Bread!

Thanks to Judy Laquidera's, CJ of Tinkle Times' and Keeping you in Stitches' great blogs with their encouraging pics, links, directions and experiences, I bought a Nutrimill grain mill and Bosch Universal Mixer, and all the bread making goodies from Pleasant Hill Grain, Wheat grain from Montana Wheat Farms.

Following the directions in "No More Bricks", a how to bake bread book by Lori Viets (awesome book), I milled and mixed, kneaded and baked my very first Whole Wheat bread loaves.

Wow, the loaves turned out great and tasted even better, yum. The only sad thing was that it took me so long to get going today with other errands, they weren't done until 6 pm. and no one was home yet! But, the family will be so glad to have fresh baked bread when they do get back.

I have always felt cooking and baking challenged with no early experience and only my own trial and error cooking before, so this is exciting for me.

Quilt for an Hour - Finished!

I finished my quilt for an hour quilt top yesterday! In my world the Judy's hours translated to maybe 2.5 hours my time, lol. But, the best part is to have finished such a neat quilt in less than a month! Here's the pics. I am going to a continuous line baptist fan pattern, and will post the pics when I am done. What a beautiful pattern.

One week behind on Quilt for an Hour

As usual, many things got in the way of me sitting down to quilt. Yikes, I am lame! But, I have my fabric cut out and my first set of HST's sewn, but not trimmed. I am doing a Quilt of Valor Quilt with these Buggy Barn fabrics from my stash. My light beige is a Classic cotton neutral that I have enough to do the backing too. Happy Quilting!

Quilt for an hour

Judy Laquidara, one of my heroes of patchwork and longarming prompted me to finally start a blog with her latest quilt for an hour project. My goals are to actually finish the quilt, which looks so cute, and to learn to post a journal and pictures successfully, yeah!
